Msida Arrows recently staged a 12-hour badminton marathon at St Martin’s College, the event serving as a fund-raiser for the Malta Community Chest Fund.

The organisation required the support of a considerable number of volunteers in order to ensure continuous play on a number of courts and over quite a long period of time.

Each participant was encouraged to make a personal donation as well as to collect funds from among friends and family members. The total amount generated by the event was enhanced by the donation which the club itself added to the proceeds.

The response was enthusiastic, Msida Arrows said in a statement, showing appreciation towards members, both local and foreigner, following their participation and generous contributions.

The club also thanked St Martin’s College for making the sports hall available at no cost so as to maximize the funds generated by the marathon.
