The 10th Birkirkara St Joseph 5K Road Running Series will start on Tuesday evening on the Mtarfa Bypass.

This series, organised under the auspices of the Malta Amateur Athletic Association, is being sponsored by The Cyclist, of San Ġwann.

For the first time, there will be three 5K runs staged this year following the club’s decision to stage a 10-kilometre race on December 13.

The other two legs of the 5K series will be held on July 24 and August 21, both starting at 7 p.m. at Mtarfa.

The winners of the series will be those with the best accumulated time in all three races.

Aaron Mifsud and Carmen Hili were the winners in their respective categories in 2011. Last year, the series attracted 164 athletes.

Entry forms and regulations may be downloaded from the club’s website www.bkarastjoseph.com.
