The fifth annual Birkirkara St Joseph (BSJ) 20K individual time trial will be held on February 3 at the Coast Road, Baħar iċ-Ċagħaq.

The race will be the first event in the calendar of the Malta Cycling Federation (MCF) and also the curtain-raiser for the 2013 events organised along the season by Birkirkara SJ.

All clubs affiliated with the federation are expected to take part in the various categories of the 20-kilometre time trial. This will also be the first race in a series of six organised by the cycling organisation this year.

For the first time points registered by cyclists in the BSJ series will be accumulated in a general classification to determine winners at the end of the season.

At the time trial, the country’s top riders will also gauge their performances in view of the Tour ta’ Malta, at the beginning of April, and also the Luxembourg GSSE, in May.

Race information can be obtained from the BSJ website www.bkarastjoseph.com.
