Bank of Valletta has issued a warning about a fraudulent e-mail asking its customers to synchronise their BOV SecureKey device by clicking on a link.

The e-mail informs BOV customers that their SecureKey is not synchronised with their bank server and they need to take the device to the nearest branch or complete the process online.

The bank reiterated that although such e-mails looked authentic, its customers should ignore all notices asking for personal bank-related information such as PIN and account numbers, internet banking user IDs or passcodes generated by the BOV Securekey.

The bank does not ask for such information through email, telephone or any other means of communication.

In a statement, BOV said it had robust security systems in place and, through its Securekey, it provided customers with a secure mechanism. For more information phone 2131 2020.
