Bank of Valletta’s mobile banking app recently reached an important milestone –10,000 subscribers – in 10 months since launch.

BOV Mobile is already an internationally recognised success, having won the prestigious Financial Innovation award from the IFS UK last year. It represents the first smartphone app to be launched by any of the banks operating in Malta, and is the result of a new and ground-breaking vision, strategy and product design process that has transformed the way the bank develops and implements engaging customer propositions, BOV said.

BOV Mobile is a major deliverable in BOV’s multi-channel banking vision and is part of a strategy of sustained, trendsetting innovation that redefines customer experience and continues to strengthen BOV’s position as the financial service brand of choice in the market.

It is available across a wide range of Apple iPhone and Android smartphones and tablets and can be accessed both locally and abroad using either 3G or Wi-Fi. It is available for download for free from the App Store and from Google Play.

The 10,000 subscriber to BOV Mobile is Julian Joseph Micallef, who was presented with an iPad by BOV chief officer Michael Galea.

Mr Galea explained how the bank is regularly enhancing the BOV Mobile application and is working on other innovations that meet the ever-changing attitudes and preferences of customers.
