Following the launch of its cloud services platform a few weeks ago, local-company BMIT has extended a 15-day cloud computing trial to the guests at the official launch.

The trial gives access to all the features and functionalities of our cloud platform. Users will be able to provision and use cloud computing infrastructure instantaneously and at no charge. After the trial period they can transition to a paid-for service or simply discontinue using the service.

When using the paid-for service, charging is done on a pay-per-use basis – this means that users can scale up or down the server’s computing resources as required and will be charged per hour of utilisation of the resources accordingly. If users stop the server (shut down) there is a minimal charge as storage space and RAM are still reserved for your server. Charging is discontinued once you terminate the service.

BMIT, a member of the Go group, announced it will go live in the coming weeks with its Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft SharePoint Cloud services which will allow users to exploit Microsoft’s best-in-class communication and collaboration capabilities, also deployable instantaneously and charged for on a pay-per-use model.

The company is investing €1 million over three years in the largest private data centre in Malta.

The trial is accessible at http://www.bmit.com.mt/cloud-computing-trial/ .
