Sharyn Baldacchino, an early years teacher at De La Salle College, Cottonera, was awarded the Recognition for Excellence in Inquiry Based Science Education by Pri-Sci-Net.
Pri-Sci-Net is an EU-funded project within Science in Society, which promotes inquiry-based learning in science education (IBSE) at primary level.
It brings together science educators from all over Europe specialising in primary science.
Pri-Sci-Net acknowledges the need to train and network primary teachers, teacher-trainers and educators as part of their professional development.
Last May, Pri-Sci-Net invited primary school teachers to submit their application for the Recognition for Excellence in IBSE certificate. This certificate aims to recognise good practice in science by primary teachers across Europe.
Ms Baldacchino has been chosen to present her work on IBSE to new colleagues from all over Europe and collect her award at Pri-Sci-Net’s international conference, which will be held in Cyprus from September 2 to 7.
