This year’s Christmas Mass at Maria Assumpta Girls Secondary School was celebrated by the Auxiliary Bishop, Mgr Charles Scicluna, who warmly accepted an invitation to visit the school.

This was the first pastoral visit to a school of his episcopate. The girls presented Mgr Scicluna with a homemade cake baked by the Home Economics classes and a handmade memento by the Art and Lace class.

Mass was animated by a live school choir and enlivened by joyous video-clips.

Guest students from other schools came from St Margaret College Girls Secondary School and from the resource centres of St Ġorġ Preca and St Benedict colleges. Seeing the bishop take photos with staff, the girls insisted on having a whole-school photo call with Mgr Scicluna, to which he candidly obliged.

The 50-year photo album at Maria Assumpta is turning out to be quite eventful. St Ġorġ Preca College principal James Camilleri and Maria Assumpta’s head of school Ray Vella thanked Mgr Scicluna for this memorable occasion.
