My husband and I accepted Emily Barbaro-Sant’s invitation to attend the launch of her publication Siltiet Mill-Imgħoddi ta’ Ħajti. It was a lovely evening chaired by Philip Borg, former director of public libraries and presently executive secretary of Mosta council.

Mrs Barbaro-Sant’s niece, Anne Marie Agius, entertained the audience with her lovely voice. President Emeritus Eddie Fenech Adami, in his speech for the occasion, mentioned his long acquaintance with Mrs Barbaro-Sant and her late husband, Arthur, her active interest in politics in the 1970s and 1980s and the couple’s untiring work for the beatification of Sr M. Adeodata Pisani OSB.

All proceeds from the sale of the autobiography will be channelled to charitable causes

President Emeritus Ugo Mifsud Bonnici, Stanley Fiorini, Lawrence Zammit, George Peresso and Noel Fabri who among others commented on the book, were also part of the well-attended audience. Also present was Anton Aguis Muscat who did the introduction of the book.

In the publication, Mrs Barbaro-Sant describes episodes of her childhood days in Floriana, her 39 years of married life with her late husband, Arthur, and also gives a detailed description of the couple’s work in favour of the Cause of M. Adeodata Pisani between 1989 and 1997.

I highly recommend the book, which also includes 40 pages of coloured illustrations.

The book was printed by A & M Printing of Qala and all proceeds from its sale will be channelled to charitable causes.

Anyone interested in obtaining a copy can contact Mrs Barbaro-Sant on 2141 1610.
