I was wondering why the Maltese gripe so much about this new arrival to our islands.

We travel in air-conditioned luxury, spacious and comfortable seats and all the worldly comforts one can think of. So the other day I tried to prove the Maltese wrong. Having time on my hands I went, at 3 p.m., to catch bus 23 for Golden Bay at Arriva station 1090 in Naxxar and waited and waited and waited.

It was actually 4.30 p.m. by the time the bus showed up and I boarded it simply mad at the amount of time I had to wait. Not so the other passenger who had to go to work at the Radisson Hotel in Golden Sands!

My point is that we should be grateful that Arriva deigned to honour us with its presence and kudos to the brains of those who generously conceded us the privilege of sharing in same. Of course, if I had the added luxury of a chauffeur-driven Jag all to myself on top of all this, it would have gone somewhat to allay the inconvenience.
