The Australian High Commissioner paid his first visit to Dar l-Emigrant, the Emigrants’ Commission’s headquarters at Castille Place, Valletta, on the occasion of the 40th anniversary of the Friends of Australia Association. She was warmly welcomed by Mgr Philip Calleja, the founder, and by Mgr Alfred Vella, the director. High Commissioner Julienne Hince was greatly impressed by the work done over the years by both the commission and the association. She also toured the museum set up recently and then met every one of those present for the occasion.

She congratulated all those involved in looking after the needs of returned migrants from Australia and expressed her thanks for the invitation, promising her help in aid of emigrants.
