Clayton Attard has won the second ranking tournament of the season, organised by the Malta Pool Association (MPA).

Attard, who plays for Ħamrun Liberty, had the better of Domus Kids player Raymond Caruana 9-4 in the final.

Thanks to this success, Attard has secured a place in the Maltese team that will be taking part in the European Championships, to be held in England in February.

A thrilling U-18 final featured a great comeback by Ryan Falzon, of Top Gun Bar. Wayne Farrugia, of The Venue Bar, was leading 6-2 when he missed two black shots, allowing Falzon to hit back and earn victory in the last frame.

Top Gun Bar players Alfred Attard and Tonio Mifsud contested the O-50 final. Attard won 6-3.

Meanwhile, the association is receiving applications from teams who intend to participate in the National Championships. More information may be obtained by calling Vincent Degiorgio, the MPA general secretary, on 7949-9117.
