Mgr Anton Gauci (Both A Funny And Sad Matter, July 2) makes reference to non-believers. I quote him: “I had the occasion to weep, it was weeping God will not reject!”
Vanity at its best.
Anyway, suddenly the same author swings from weeping to laughing at a list he gathered; a list of names of folk that might happen to simply disagree with him on a number of issues. My name is included.
He says: “Because you cannot help laughing when you see certain aberrations and realise that they come from people who know not Japanese and, yet, try to write it!”
I would like to point out to Mgr Gauci that I come from a Christian/Catholic background, was even an altar boy at one point, I received my education in a Church school and always did well in religion exams before coming to the conclusion that it’s all nonsense. It would be very patronising and downright rude now, just because I feel that way, that I am therefore referred to as “sheep that run away” and what not.
I demand respect.
