Rabat Ajax striker Nerijus Astrauskas will sit out his team’s next two Premier League matches as yesterday he was handed a two-match ban by the Malta FA Disciplinary Commissioner.

The Lithuanian forward, who joined the Magpies this summer, was sanctioned by the disciplinary board after he was reported by referee Fyodor Zammit for passing comments towards one of the assistant referees at the end of Friday’s 2-0 defeat to Birkirkara.

The 31-year-old will miss the matches against Hibernians (September 16) and Floriana (September 24).

Ħamrun Spartans and Mosta will both have one first-team player missing from their league clash of September 17.

Goalkeeper Andrea Cassar received a one-match ban fol-lowing his dismissal in the Spar-tans’ 1-1 draw against Tarxien Rainbows on Sunday. Mosta will have to do without Ryan Grech who saw red in the Blues’ 2-0 defeat of Sliema Wanderers.
