Can Arriva explain why seven months down the line, one still cannot top up an Arriva Saver Card online? Also, when considering that in the UK one can pay for a stick of chewing gum using plastic money, Arriva still does not accept card payments even at their automatic ticket selling/card top-up machines. Is this a way to avoid paying bank charges?

On a secondary level, the website also leaves much to be desired when it comes to the display of schedules, routes and network status updates. Can’t they come up with a site that is more decent to use, especially for foreigners who have no clue where the bus would pass from? Layering their routes over a detailed map (maybe using Google Maps or Google Earth) would be helpful.

Adding to that, with the age of Smart phones, maybe providing apps that help with route selection, timings and maybe why not, status updates, would help. Match that up with geolocation data and any tech-savvy tourist would get a world-class practical app that could win awards. Advertising potential could also reduce costs.

Maybe funding could also be obtained through the Malta Tourism Authority by developing a project which also looks at this from a touristic point of view providing a practical app for visitors to these shores.
