The passengers on bus no. 91 that left Valletta to Marsascala at 3pm last Sunday had an unusual experience when three middle-aged foreign men boarded the bus at Blata l-Bajda. On checking the tickets, the driver claimed they had fake ones and asked them to get off the bus. However, the men protested strongly and did not take no for an answer. They started shouting at the driver, calling him names and refused to leave.

The driver just shut off his engine and started logging a report in his electronic pad.

The argument, the shouting and the foul language escalated to the extent that passengers felt quite uneasy, and somewhat afraid too, and just disembarked. Some of them opted to take alternative transport while others waited on the pavement for the outcome of such a tense experience.

After having terrified everyone on the bus, these men just ran off to embark on the following bus heading to Marsa. The passengers boarded again but, believe it or not, when the bus got to Marsa the same men turned up again and threatened the driver with their arrogant gestures and foul language.

At the final destination, the driver was advised to file a police report to avoid similar arrogant and dangerous behaviour.
