The World Cup stadium was inaugurated with a ceremony and test match in front of a crowd of 20,000 fans. The stadium is the eighth of the 12 World Cup stadiums to be officially handed over with construction still underway in Curitiba and Sao Paulo, which will host the opening match of the finals on June 12. The Arena Amazonia will host the Group D match between Italy and England on June 14.
