If someone asked me what was one of the biggest mistakes I made in my life, first and foremost in my mind would be my joining a trade union. After I and other workers joined a union the bonus I used to get for producing more items was greatly reduced. Tighter rules came into effect at work. Any type of understanding or family-like atmosphere from the management was gone.

Recently my daughter and I had to perform at a concert at St John’s Co-Cathedral and I decided to go by bus so I would not have to bother with parking.

After the performance we looked for a bus to go back home and to our dismay found out that a strike had been called by the union. There were no buses going to our locality. So my daughter and I were left stranded and I had to call my husband to collect us.

I had started to have a little faith in commuting by bus but no longer! This union is costing these men their jobs. I shall definitely be driving myself wherever I want to go in the future.
