Richard England was awarded the Annual 2011 Prize at the 13th Triennial of the International Academy of Architecture that was held in Sofia, Bulgaria, last month, in recognition of his contribution to architecture and architectural creativity.

Prof. England was also awarded a Laureate Prize for his proposed project of the Missionary Society of St Paul ‘Open to the Sky’ chapel to be built within the MSSP Oratory grounds in Birkirkara. This prize was awarded by the Mayor of Tbilisi, Georgia, and presented by the Union of Architects of Georgia president, David Abuladze.

The ‘Open To The Sky’ chapel will provide an appropriate prayer and meeting space for youth and community members adjacent to the main oratory church. The project is envisaged to be completed late in 2013.
