Archbishop Paul Cremona has urged members of the police force to always act in defence of the truth and not shy away from doing so because of other people’s reactions.

Mgr Cremona was delivering his homily during a Mass at St John’s Co-Cathedral to mark the 200th anniversary of the Police Corps. People looked up to the police, Mgr Cremona said, and its members therefore had to set an example.
Present for Mass were President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, Home Affairs Minister Manuel Mallia, Foreign Minister George Vella, Opposition leader Simon Busuttil and Acting Police Commissioner Ray Zammit.

After Mass a parade was held in St George’s square where new police colours where presented to the force by Ms Coleiro Preca.
