Malta’s Archbishop Paul Cremona is gradually resuming his public commitments, according to a Church spokesman.

Mgr Cremona was advised to rest after feeling the effects of exhaustion.

“He cancelled his public commitments, which he is resuming gradually. However, this does not mean that he is not fully responsible for the running of the Archdiocese,” the spokesman noted.

On the feast of the Assumption of Our Lady, Santa Marija, last Wednesday, the Archbishop celebrated Pontifical Mass at the Cathedral in Mdina.

He also said Mass and participated in a liturgical function the day before.

On Monday, he presided over a meeting for senior Curia officials and in the evening attended the unveiling of a monument to seafarers in Valletta. He had led a similar meeting the week before.

He made other public appearances during a liturgical function at the St Helen parish church of Birkirkara and at an activity for children held in Dingli in connection with the feast of Santa Marija when he celebrated Mass.
