Benjamin Grech has been promoted to chief operating officer at Engel & Völkers Sara Grech.
Mr Grech has been involved in the real estate business since he was 17. After completing his studies as an architect, he spent 15 years working overseas before deciding to return to Malta.
He and mother Sara plan to expand the business internationally after becoming a household name locally.
“Engel & Völkers has helped us to do just that: a globally established German brand dealing in premium real estate as well as yacht brokerage with the highest standards of service. We are very honoured to have taken on the real-estate brand and Mr Völkers himself is a great inspiration. I am lucky to be surrounded by leaders who are professional and established,” Mr Grech said.
New CCO at Allcare
Nadia Pace has taken up the position of chief commercial officer designate at Allcare Insurance.
Ms Pace previously held a senior role with a multilingual International Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) company where her role involved clients including eBay, Turkish Airlines, Lufthansa and Amazon.
She has also been involved in the management of language schools in Malta and Cyprus, and in the manufacturing industry in Thessaloniki Greece.
Simon Schembri has taken on the role of managing director at Allcare Insurance while Joe Avellino has taken up the position of chief operations officer. Eric Schembri retains the role of chairman of the board of directors with Ramon Mizzi and David Mallia retaining their roles as group head and chief financial officer respectively.

Focal Maritime Services creates new corporate post
Focal Maritime Services has appointed Silvan Fleri as deputy general manager.
Mr Fleri is a management graduate and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Ship-brokers with 16 years’ experience in management and operation of shipping liner services. He joined the company in July 2005 and is specialised in management and chartering of vessels, short-sea shipping, feasibility and viability studies of maritime nature.
The objective of Focal Maritime in creating this new corporate position is to focus more on business development and give more support to existing business lines.
Focal Maritime represents a number of shipping interests in Malta and is actively involved in port agency services, liner representations, freight-forwarding and logistics.

Finco appoints senior manager
Finco Treasury Management has appointed Ivan Grech as an executive manager to boost its investment, stockbroking and wealth management arm.
The required regulatory procedures regarding this appointment are on course.
Mr Grech’s experience in the banking and financial services sector encompasses more than 30 years of which 25 years were directly involved in the financial markets and investments field in senior executive positions.
For the last 13 years, Mr Grech was responsible for HSBC Bank Malta Wealth Brokerage, Sales and Trading department providing investment services to retail customers on both local and international markets.
