AZZOPARDI. On June 20, at Mater Dei Hospital, CONNIE, née Schembri, residing at Sliema, aged 79, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Ritchie, her children Patricia and her husband Silvio, Ian and his wife Rita, and Paul, her grandchildren Andrew, Debbie and her husband Roderick, Matthew and Mark and his girlfriend Clare, her only great-grandson Benjamin, her brothers Tony, Lino and Lolly, their in-laws, other relatives and numerous friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 1.30pm for Sacro Cuor parish church, Sliema, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment in the family chapel at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Moviment Missjunarju Ġesù fil-Proxxmu, 103, Charity Street, Victoria, Gozo, or Fondazzjoni U, Valletta Road, Luqa, will be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

On June 20, MARIA ROSARIA née Scicluna, aged 92, widow of Vincent and sister-in-law of the late Mgr Michael Azzopardi, founder of Id-Dar tal-Providenza, at Dar Sant’ Anna, Senglea passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church and surrounded by her loved ones. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Elena and Lawrence Fenech, Tonio and Isabelle Azzopardi, Chiara and Mario Felice, her beloved grandchildren Christine and Karl Gambin, Alex and Roberta Fenech, Mattia and Claudia Felice, her great-grandchildren Nicholas Gambin and Mattea Fenech, her sisters Blanche Mifsud and Anne Scicluna, Marlene Azzopardi widow of her brother-in-law Carmelo, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends, nurses, staff and fellow patients at Dar Sant’ Anna, Senglea, and former students of Maria Assunta and St Catherine School. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Saturday at 8.30am for the Sanctuary of St Theresa, Birkirkara, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9am followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, would be greatly appreciated. BONELLO. On June 20, at Live Life Rehabilitation Centre, MARGOT, aged 91, passed peacefully away comforted by rites of the Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her sister-in-law May widow of her brother Dr Edwin Bonello, her devoted nephews and nieces Sandro and Louise Zammit La Rosa, Liliana and Donald Brincat, Suzanne and Paul Vassallo, Renato and Diane Zammit La Rosa, Jackie and Philip Meli, Rachael Bonello, Gerald and Claire Bonello, her much loved carer Jo Ann, her grand-nephews and nieces besides other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St James Hospital, Sliema tomorrow at 8.30am for Jesus of Nazareth parish church, Sliema where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9am followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery (top gate). CASSAR TORREGGIANI. On June 19, NATHALIE née Aloisio, aged 78, widow of Alexander, at Sir Anthony Mamo Hospital, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of the Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Michael and Alison, Christine and Graziella, Jacqueline and Hugh Arrigo, and Philip and Carol, her grandchildren David, Melanie and Mike, Andrew, Nicky, Philippa and David, Benjamin, Matthew and Bernard, her brothers and sisters, her in-laws and their families, other relatives and friends. Also, her loving and dedicated carer Denia. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 1pm for Stella Maris parish church Sliema, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment in the family crypt at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request, but donations to Hospice Malta, Balzan, would be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

GALEA. On June 8, JOSEPH, formerly of Mosta, aged 89, passed away peacefully in Melbourne. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Josephine, loving sons John, Edwin and Paul, siblings Grazio, Alfred and Georgina, relatives, friends and Malta Drydocks workmates where he worked as a shipwright (1942-1948). Rest in peace.

Ecumenical public dialogue meeting

The ecumenical group Christians Together In Malta is holding a public dialogue meeting at St. Andrews House, in Old Bakery Street, Valletta (round the corner from St Andrews Scots Church) tomorrow from 6.30pm to 7.30pm. The theme of the meeting is: “The second coming of Christ”.
