CASSAR. On April 30, at Mater Dei Hospital, CARMEL, widower of Rita, née Pace, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his daughters Frances and her husband Denis Camilleri, Josephine and her husband Albert Farrugia, Anna and Mariella, his grandsons Nigel, Ian, David and Adrian, his great-granddaughters Kate, Neena, Sophie, Luisa and Carla, his nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortege leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Wednesday, May 4 at 1.30pm for St Rita chapel, Lourdes Lane, Swieqi, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lift up your hearts and share with me; God wanted me now, He set me free.

FARRUGIA. On April 30, at St Vincent de Paul Residence, MARIA ĠEMMA, of Floriana, residing in Msida, aged 94, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Peter and Marie Louise, Henrietta and Arthur Tabone, Mariucca and Joseph Zammit, George and Suzanne, and Sergio and Marie Louise, grand­children, great-grandchildren, relatives and friends. The funeral cortege leaves St Vincent de Paul Residence tomorrow at 9.30am for Tal-Erwieħ Cemetery chapel, Tarxien, where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 10am followed by interment at the same cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar il-Kaptan, Mtarfa, will be greatly appreciated. The family would like to thank the staff at Ward RB 2 for their utmost care and dedication. SPITERI. On April 30, JOAN, née Salomone, widow of Brigadier John Spiteri. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Angela and her husband David Marinelli, her son Simon, grandchildren Steven, Helen and Alexandra, her great-grandsons Patrick and Thomas, her sister Barbara Bonavia and her sister-in-law Doris Doublet. Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 4 at 8.45am at St Gregory’s parish church, Sliema. The family would like to thank the staff at St Vincent de Paul JP3 for their care and dedication. May she finally rest in peace and love.

VON BROCKDORFF. On April 30 at his residence, BERNARD, aged 83, went to meet the Risen Lord comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Veronica, his dearest children David, Vanessa and Ralph Asciak, Nicholas and Alina, his precious grandchildren Michael, Sascha and Adam, his brother Albert and his wife Lina, his sister Marguerite Cachia, his brother Robert and his wife Liz, his in-laws Vivianne Cassar Desain, Christine and Lino Delia, Nathalie Saville, Michael Cassar Desain, his ever faithful and loyal Ġuża, Leli and family and Mayra, his dedicated companion and carer, besides many nephews, nieces relatives and friends. The funeral cortege leaves St James Capua Hospital, Sliema, tomorrow at 1.45pm for Stella Maris parish church, Sliema, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Hospice Malta, Balzan, will be appreciated. The family regret that they shall be unable to receive visitors. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

ZAMMIT. On April 30 at Mater Dei Hospital, CARMEN, née Chetcuti, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Joseph, their son Chris and his wife Graziella, her grandson Andrea, her beloved sisters and brothers, her father-in-law John Andrew, her brother-in-law and his wife, in-laws, relatives and friends. The funeral cortege leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8am for St Publius parish church, Floriana, where a Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 9am, followed by interment in the family grave at San Nikola Cemetery, Qrendi. Donations to the Capuchin Friars, Floriana, for Kenya will be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.
