CRAIG. On April 11, at Mater Dei Hospital, CARRIE of Paola, aged 91, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss, her son Tony and his wife Doris, her granddaughters Audrey and Sarah, her sisters Josephine, widow of Paul Attard, Evelyn and her husband Salvinu Zammit and her brother Henry and his wife Cettina, besides other relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Thursday, April 14 for Christ the King parish church, Paola, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8.30am followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

HAMPTON. On April 11, GODWIN, passed away suddenly, aged 64, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss his loving wife Margaret, his son Neil, his sister Victoria and her husband Victor Sciberras, his brother Martin and his wife Vicky, his brother-in-law Joseph Buhagiar and his wife Divina, his nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Thursday, April 14 at 2pm for St Sebastian parish church, Qormi, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2.30pm, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. MUSCAT. On April 9, JOSEPH, of Attard, aged 69, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Maria Dolores, his sons Daniel and his wife Nicola, David and his wife Maria Elena, his grandson Luigi, his brothers, sisters, in-laws, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today for Attard parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment at Attard cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

SANT. On April 12, BARTHOLOMEO of Naxxar, aged 89, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Maria, his sons John and his wife Marlene and Saviour and his wife Josette, his daughters Marthese and Connie members of the Society of Christian Doctrine and Josephine and her husband Mario Cortis, his nieces, Kirsty, Daniella and Abigail Julie, his brothers, sisters, in-laws, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves his residence tomorrow for Għargħur parish church where a concelebrated Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2.30pm, followed by interment at Għargħur cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

STANSBIE. On April 7, at Faro Hospital, Portugal, JOHN NELSON HOUNSLOW, aged 81, passed away peacefully, after a short illness. He is mourned by his widow, Monica, loving sons Antony and his partner Julie, and Robert and his wife Lisa, and grandchildren, Johanna, Sophie, Ben, Natalie and Emily, together with his family and friends in England, Malta, South Africa and Portugal. The funeral takes place today at St Luke’s church, followed by burial at Moncarapacho Cemetery, Olhão, Portugal. May he rest in peace.

XERRI. On April 7, in Toronto, Canada, TEDDIE of Victoria, Gozo, aged 65, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss his wife Linda, his son Mark and his wife Shannon, his granddaughters Meadow and Penelope, his mother Georgina, his sisters Yvonne, Miriam and Natalie, his brother David, in-laws,nephews and nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral took place in Toronto. A Mass for the repose of his soul will be said tomorrow at 6pm at St George’s Basilica, Victoria. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

CARUANA – MURIEL. Unfading and treasured memories of a dearly beloved mother and grandmother who went to meet the Risen Lord eight years ago today. So loved and so sadly missed by her daughter Carol, son-in-law David and grandchildren Rachel, Zach and Anthea. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

MILLER. With treasured memories of LILIAN, today the fifth anniversary of her passing to a better life. Much loved mother and grandmother, she lives forever in the hearts of her children Madeleine, Joan, Malcolm and Caroline and all their families.

TABONE – LAWRENCE. In loving memory of a dear father, grandfather and great-grandfather on the 40th anniversary of his demise. Fondly remembered by his children Carmen, Vincent, Edwin and his wife Edith, Joe and his wife Sharon, Rose Mary, Louis and his wife Marthese, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. WARRINGTON – IVY. A dear aunt, fondly remembered by her family, on the eighth anniversary of her death.

Fusion of flute works

Flute Airs for Springtime is today’s concert for flautist Silvio Zammit who will be joined by Scottish flautist Andrea Kuypers in this much-awaited performance.

The two flautists have collaborated in performances over these last four years and this upcoming event promises to be yet another successful fusion of flute works and performances.

The flautists will be accompanied by Ramona Zammit Formosa on the piano.

The lunchtime concert, presented by Barocco Cultural Events, is being held at the Oratory of St Francis, Valletta today at 12.30pm.

Donations at the door will be appreciated.
