GALEA. On September 20, at Mater Dei Hospital, TESSIE, aged 86, of Attard, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Francis Xavier, her son Dr Ray Galea and his wife Nathalie, her granddaughter Maria Roberta and her husband Christopher Mallia, her nephews and nieces, especially Sylvana Barthet, their families, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 2.30pm for Santa Maria parish church, Attard, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 3pm, followed by interment in the family grave at San Andrea Cemetery, Żebbuġ. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

MELI. On September 20, at his daughter’s residence at Tal-Ibraġ, JOHN VINCENT, aged 85, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Doris, his children Maris and her husband Aldo Borg, Simon and his wife Carmen, Brian and his partner Flora, Raymond widower of his daughter Joan, his grandchildren Hannah and her husband Matthew Micallef, Aaron, Jan and his wife Debbie, Sirach and his fiancée Cristina, Rakel, Dean, Martina and Neil, in-laws, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 2pm for Tal-Ibraġ parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30pm followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. THEUMA – On September 20, NINU, aged 88, of Ħamrun, passed away peacefully at Mater Dei Hospital, comforted by the rites of the holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Jane, his nine children and their spouses, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Public lecture

Fr Pierre de Charentenay SJ will deliver a public lecture on ‘Restoration of a Charism – an extraordinary power given a Christian by the Holy Spirit’ on Friday at 7.30pm at Mount St Joseph Retreat House, Tarġa Gap, Mosta. The talk is part of the bicentenary celebrations marking the 1814 restoration of the Society of Jesus (the Jesuits).
