ABELA. On May 13, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOSEPH of Marsascala, passed away peacefully, aged 59, surrounded by his family and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Marcelle, née Fava, his loving daughters Norah and her partner Alan Briffa and Bertha and her husband Mark Emmanuel, his adorable grandchildren Isaiah, Mia and Martina, his brother Michael and his wife Jacqueline of UK, his sisters Anna Maria and her husband Laurence Brincat and Monica and her husband Anton Debono, his in-laws Isabel and her husband David Formosa, Corinne, widow of Joseph Scicluna, Peter Fava and his wife Edwige of New Zealand, Denise and her husband Joseph Ellul Sullivan, and Angele Craver of USA, nephews, nieces, aunty Rose and her husband Alfred Bundy, uncles, cousins, otherrelatives, very dear family friends and work colleagues at ETC. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 2.30pm for St Anne parish church, Marsascala, where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 3pm, followed by interment at Żabbar cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Hospice Malta, Balzan, and Villa Mgr. Gonzi, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. The family would like to thank the consultants, doctors, nurses and all the staff especially those at Urology Ward 2. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

AZZOPARDI. On May 15, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOSEPH, widower of Mary Rose, née Debono, from Qormi, and residing in St Paul’s Bay, aged 89, went to meet the Risen Lord, comforted by rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved daughter Doris, his nephews Stephen and Tony, his grandsons Stephen, Keelan and Dylan, his in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortege leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 2.15pm for Our Lady of Sorrows parish church, St Paul’s Bay, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 3pm followed by interment in the family grave at Ħniena Divina Cemetery, St Paul’s Bay. Donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

BARTOLO. On May 14, at Casa Antonia, Balzan, JOSEPHINE of Burmarrad, aged 82, went to meet the Risen Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Paul, her children Anthony and his wife Miriam, Fr Jimmy SJ, Catherine and her husband Paul Borg, and Silvio, her sister Rita and her husband George Briffa, her nephews Marina and Matthias, other relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated today at 4pm at Burmarrad parish church, followed by interment at the Divine Mercy Cemetery, St Paul’s Bay. May she rest in the peace of the Risen Lord.

CHIRCOP. On May 14, ĊETTINA, née Mifsud, widow of Joseph, aged 79, passed away peacefully at home, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her daughters Rosemarie, Bernardette and Angele and her husband Philip Micallef, her grandchildren Timothy and Martina, her brothers Joe and George Mifsud, her sisters Mary Pirotta and Mary Rose Mifsud, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be said today at 2pm at the Carmelite parish church, Balluta, St Julian’s, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. CUTAJAR. On May 14, at Mater Dei Hospital, Dr GEORGE CUTAJAR, aged 52, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Rowena, née Wismayer, his loving sons Sean and Kurt, his brothers Kenneth, Anthony and Gordon, their respective wives and children, his parents-in-law Captain Joseph and Lilian Wismayer, his sisters-in-law Caroline, Vanessa and Felicity, their respective husbands and children, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8.30am for the Metropolitan Cathedral, Mdina, where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 9am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery.
