AZZOPARDI. On January 25, at St Catherine’s Home, Attard, ANTONIA, widow of Nazzareno, aged 99, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Carmelina, widow of Salv Borg D’Anastasi, Josephine and her husband John Tonna, Emanuel and his wife Miriam, and Lilian and her husband Laurence Grech, her 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves St Catherine’s Home tomorrow at 1.30pm for the Old Church of St Mary, Birkirkara, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Providenza will be appreciated. The family wish to show their appreciation to the Dominican nuns and staff of St Catherine’s Home, Attard, for their dedication and care. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

BALZAN. On January 24, at Mater Dei Hospital, Sr ELIANA (Maria), of the Franciscan Sisters, aged 86, passed peacefully away to meet the Risen Lord comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss the congregation of the Franciscan Sisters, her sister Josephine Abela, her sister Lina Mifsud of Australia, Lora Balzan, widow of her brother Elis, of Australia, Anna Balzan, widow of her brother Carmelo, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 2pm for the convent chapel of the Franciscans in Msida, where Mass praesente cadavere will be celebrated at 2.30pm, followed by interment in the Franciscan Sisters’ vault at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. BORG. Francis Joseph, B.Pharm (known as Joe), aged 85, passed peacefully away on January 25, after a long illness, so bravely borne. He leaves to mourn his loss his children Martin and his wife Muriel, Anton and his wife Sarah, Anne and her husband Francis Cuschieri, his sister May Borg and sister-in-law Margaret Vassallo, his beloved grandchildren Sarah, Matthew and Malcolm, James, Katie and Joseph, Krista and Kurt, and their partners, his nephews and nieces, all relatives and friends. Funeral details will be announc­ed later. No flowers by request but donations to The Malta Dementia Society, c/o Room 135, Pharmacy Building, University of Malta, Msida MSD 2080, would be greatly appreciated. DEMAJO. On January 21, at Mater Dei Hospital, Dr THOMAS DEMAJO, aged 88, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Tessie, his daughters Apollonia and her husband Leonard Ellul-Mercer, Odette and her husband Philip Taylor, his granddaughters Diana, Ruth and Harriet, other relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be said tomorrow at 2pm at St Paul’s Cathedral, Mdina, followed by interment in the family grave at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. PETTICREW. On January 24, at Marina Home, Msida, ANTONIA, aged 79, widow of Roderick Andrew, of Siġġiewi, residing in Guardamangia, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Antoinette and her husband Doughi, John and his wife Cathy, David and his wife Gina, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her brothers and sisters, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 1.30pm for Guardamangia parish church where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2pm followed by interment in the family vault at Siġġiewi cemetery. ROBERTSON – MARGARET. Resident of Malta 1967-1981, died peacefully on January 21, at Carham Hall, Scottish borders, aged 93. Sadly missed by her sons Adam and Matthew, her daughters-in-law Cikki and Jenny, widows of her sons William and Jamie and her grandchildren. May she rest in peace.

ROSSO. On January 24, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOSEPHINE, of Sliema, aged 87, passed peacefully away comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her beloved daughters Alida and her husband Edward, Carla and her husband Dennis, her grandchildren Edward and Linda, Becky and Anders, Daniel and Claire, Nicky and Jose, Sue and Martin and Sarah, her great-grandchildren Eddie, Eric, Amy and Kay, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 1.30pm for St Gregory’s parish church, Sliema, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2pm followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery.
