SCERRI. On January 20, at Mater Dei Hospital, Sister LEA (Mary) of the Sisters of Charity, aged 87, passed away peacefully to meet the Risen Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity, her sisters Mrs Rita Borg and Mrs Odlin Magro of Australia and her husband Victor, Mrs Stella Scerri, widow of her brother Joseph, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 9am for the convent chapel at 55, Birbal Street, Balzan, where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 9.30am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

Seminar on Euro Codes

The Building Industry Consultative Council and the Malta Competition and Consumer Affairs Authority will be organising a seminar for architects, engineers, contractors and other professionals within the construction industry regarding the new national codes on construction known as the Euro Codes.

All professionals and building contractors are invited to attend the event, which will be free of charge. The seminar will be held on January 31 at the Old University in Valletta at 5.30pm. Interested parties should register on 2292 7933/4 at their earliest as reservations are limited.

Hospice event

Hospice Malta will present an evening with Redent & Band on February 1 at the Buskett Road House, Rabat, from 8.30pm onwards. The evening will be reliving the cabaret years and paying tribute to the music of the 1960s and more.
