Marriages

Notary Dr SEAN CRITIEN, BA, LL.D and Dr ABIGAIL GALEA, BA, Adv. Trib. Eccl. Melit, LL.M. (Family Law) (Lond.), LL.D

The marriage took place on Saturday, June 29, between SEAN, son of Notary Dr Patrick Critien, LL.D, and Ms Marcelline Micallef, and ABIGAIL, daughter of Mr and Mrs Austin Galea. Nuptial Mass was celebrated by Fr Norbert Ellul-Vincenti, OFM, MA (Oxon.), and Dun Ġorġ Dalli, at St Mary of Jesus church (Ta’ Ġieżu), Valletta. Witness for the bride was Mr Ludwig Galea, B.Ed. (Hons.), ATCL, and witness for the groom was Dr Robert Spiteri Paris, BA, LL.D. The duties of best man were carried out by Dr Aaron Zammit Apap, BA, LL.M (Lond.), LL.D., Mr Andrew Camilleri and Dr Jean-Pie Gauci Maistre, BA, LL.D. The duties of ushers were carried out by Dr Matthew Tabone, BA, LL.D., Dr Richard Bernard, BA, LL.D and Mr Christiaan Borg. Master Edward Vassallo and Master Jean Louis Critien, the groom’s brother, were altar boys. The bride was attended by Ms Elena Vella, B.Pharm. (Hons.), MBA, Ms Jelena Attard and Ms Sarah Aquilina. A reception was afterwards held at The Grand Hotel Excelsior, Floriana. The couple will spend their honeymoon in Jamaica and the United States of America.

Obituaries

JONES. On June 28, JOSEPH of Ħamrun, residing in Buġibba, aged 60, passed peacefully away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Yvonne, his sisters Carmen, Anna and her husband Michael, John, widower of his sister Laura, nephews and nieces, other relatives and numerous friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be said on July 3 at 9.30am at Our Lady of Sorrows parish church, St Paul’s Bay. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Joseph may be made to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi.

PSAILA. On June 27, GEORGE, aged 63, passed peacefully away, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved partner Odette, his sons Jason and Christopher, their spouses and grandchildren, his sisters Marija and her husband Philip, and Doris, his sisters-in-law Rita and Lourdes, his nephew and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8.30am for the Immaculate Conception parish church, Tal-Ibraġ, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9am, followed by interment at the Santa Maria Addolorata cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

BARTOLO ALBERT, who went to be with the Lord on June 30, 1993. Twenty years on, we thank God for his life, the legacy he left behind as a man of deep conviction, honesty and integrity, and treasured memories. His children David, Anne, Claire and Simon, and the grandchildren.

BONETT – MARY. Treasured memories of a dearest mother and grandmother, today the fifth anniversary since she joined the Lord in heaven.
