DEMANUELE. On June 6, at Mater Dei Hospital, EMANUEL, aged 82, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Angela, his daughter Sharon and her husband Khaled Al Gededi, his grandchildren Adam and Yasmin, his sisters and brother and their spouses, his wife’s family, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital at 8.30am today for St Cajetan parish church, Ħamrun, where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 9am followed by interment at Żebbuġ Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, would be appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

IZZO – JOSEPH, aged 75, passed away peacefully on May 27. Loved especially by his family and all who knew him, he will be sadly missed. Russian Night

A Russian-themed night is being organised to raise funds for the Actavis LifeCycle Challenge 2013.

This year’s challenge, in August, starts in Belarus and ends in St Petersburg, Russia.

The cyclists and the back-up team will be throwing a party with Russian cuisine, entertainment by Russians singers and dancers, compered by Valerie Vella, and music till midnight. The dress code is ‘all in white’.

The party will be held at the sandy beach of the Riviera Hotel, Marfa on June 28. Tickets cost €20 each. See White Russian Night event on Facebook for details.

Sliema art festival

A Street Art Festival will be held between June 28 and 30 along the Sliema promenade and beaches.

The event will be organised by the Sliema Local Council, together with local NGO Add More Colours. Various international graffiti artists participate in the festival.
