On April 2, at St James Capua Hospital, Sliema, The Noble LUCY, née Dei Marchesi Testaferrata Bonici, aged 96, widow of Commendatore Alfred John Bencini, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her irreparable loss her son Colonel Dr Raymond and his wife Marlena, her daughters Marlene widow of Dr Anton Zammit-Bonett, Frida and Denise, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her sons-in-law Herbert Naudi and Udo Turscherl, sisters-in-law Mable and Grace, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves St James Capua Hospital tomorrow at 1.15pm for Mdina Cathedral where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 1.45pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Ceme-tery. DIMECH. On April 4, EDWIGE, née Galea, of Birkirkara, passed away peacefully, at Sir Paul Boffa Hospital, at the age of 68. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Maria and her husband Sinclair, Rebecca and her fiancé Andre, her grandchildren Celine, Jade and Adam, her beloved husband Manuel, her brother Envic, her sisters Joan and Rose, their respective families, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital, tomorrow at 8.30am for San Ġwann parish church, where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 9am, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Malta Hospice Movement will be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

EBEJER. On April 4, at St James Capua Hospital, Sliema, MARY ANNE, aged 58, daughter of the late Rose and Walter Ebejer, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her brothers, Martin and his wife Marguerite and Adrian and his wife Anna, her sisters Lucienne and her husband Jo Said, and Bernie, her nephews and nieces Karl, Christina and her husband Ali Acar, Amanda, Philippa and her husband Joseph Arrigo, Jonathan, Simon, Kate, Nikki, Tara, Philip, Ayla and Shaun, other relatives and many close friends. The funeral cortège leaves St James Capua Hospital on April 9 at 1.30pm for St Julians parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. The family wish to thank all the doctors, nurses and friends who looked after Mary Anne during her long illness. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

MEILAK. On April 4, at Dar tal-Kleru, Birkirkara, Fr PETER PAUL MEILAK, ofm, aged 91, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his brother friars of the Maltese Franciscan Province of St Paul the Apostle, his brothers and sisters, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Dar tal-Kleru today at 8.30am for the Franciscan Friary, Villambrosa Street, Ħamrun, where at 9.15am the funeral cortège will proceed to St Francis church, Ħamrun, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9.30am, followed by interment in the Franciscan chapel at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Dar tal-Kleru will be greatly appreciated.

Heritage Tour

A Din l-Art Ħelwa heritage tour will take place on Sunday to a number of heritage sites, starting from St Agatha’s Tower known as the Red Tower in Mellieħa, going on to Wignacourt Tower in St Paul’s Bay and ending at Msida Bastion Historic Garden of Rest in Floriana, where refreshments will be served.

The tour sets off at 1pm sharp at the parking area next to Corinthia. Historian and DLH volunteer Stanley Farrugia Randon will be accompanying the group.
