AGIUS. On February 25, at Mater Dei Hospital, MAY (personal secretary to the late Mabel Strickland), aged 92, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her sister Gemma, her nephews and nieces, Mark and Ann Agius, Ann and David Mays, Christine and John Batter, Tom Agius, Gillian and Del Attwood, cousins Thomas and Patricia Agius Vadala’, and her faithful carer Michelle. Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated on March 4 at 8.30am at St Rita church of the convent of St Augustine friars, Dar Santa Rita, Sqaq Lourdes, St Julians, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to the Sisters of St Dorothy in Manila, the Philippines, will be greatly appreciated.

AXISA – MARIAN, née Bugeja, wife of William, aged 82, in Australia. She leaves to mourn her loss her family, her sisters Gina, Rose and Lina, her brothers Andrew and Paul, nephews and nieces, and her sister-in-law Maryrose, widow of Bernard Bugeja.

CACHIA FEARNE. On February 26, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOSEPH, aged 87, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family and comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss his wife Ann, nèe Sant Portanier, his sons Joseph, John and his wife Rebecca, his beloved grandson Matthew, his sister-in-law Mary Cachia Fearne, widow of his brother Emanuel, his nieces Doris and Irene and their respective families, his in-laws and their respective spouses, numerous nieces and nephews, their families, and other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 8.30am. for Ibraġ parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9am followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. The family regrets that it is unable to receive visitors. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

GRECH. On February 26, JOYCE, née Consiglio, widow of Notary Dr Alexander Grech, comforted through the ministry of the Church by the Eucharist and the Sacrament of the Sick, passed away peacefully to the Father’s House to meet the Risen Jesus and enjoy the fullness of eternal life in the Spirit. Her loss is deeply mourned by her son Fr Konrad SJ, her daughters Hilary and Sr Benedict MC, (Noella), her brothers Ramon and his wife Anne, Francis and his wife Joan, Rosa widow of her brother Joe and Mary widow of her brother-in-law Victor, her nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Funeral Mass will be celebrated tomorrow at 2pm at St Augustine parish church, Valletta. We thank God for her life and love. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

TONNA. On February 26, FRANK of Sliema, residing in San Ġwann, ex-Sliema Wanderers FC and the Malta national team, aged 84, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. Loved and remembered by his wife Valerie, his sons Edgar, Noel and his wife Valerie and Simon and his wife Felicity, his grandchildren Byron, Yasmin, Warren and Shaun, their respective spouses and fiancées, his great-grandchildren Sheznil and Kaylin, his brother and sister, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 1.30pm for Our Lady of Lourdes parish church, San Ġwann, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
