ABELA. On February 4, at Mater Dei Hospital, CHRISTINE AMANDA, from Blackpool and residing in St Julian’s, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church, aged 54. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Joe, her children Daniel and his wife Joan, Victoria and her husband Nathan, and Andrew, her sister Mary Rogers, her nieces Hannah and Rebecca, her sisters Sheila and Constance, her in-laws and their respective families, other relatives and friends. BRUNO. On February 5, at Mater Dei Hospital, MARY, née Muscat, of Valletta and residing in Buġibba, St. Paul’s Bay, aged 87, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her great loss her beloved husband Albert, her children Joe, residing in London, UK, Charles and his wife Sara, residing in Germany, and Ronald and his wife Catherine, her grandchildren Daniela, Claire and Jeanette and their fiancees, her brother and her sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. HAYHURST. On February 4, at Casa Arkati, Mosta, DOLORES (Babs), née Clarke, widow of Reginald (Rex), aged 98, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church and surrounded by her family. She leaves to mourn her great loss her beloved children Jackie and her husband Philip Pullicino and Tony and his wife Marisa, née Aguis-Vadala, her grandsons Richard, Paul and Robert and her six great-grandchildren Edward, Anna, Charlie, Casper, Harvey and Olly, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Casa Arkati today at 1.30pm for the Sanctuary of Divine Mercy, San Pawl tat-Tarġa, Naxxar, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. MERCIECA. On February 4, ĊETTINA, née Vella, wife of Tony, passed away peacefully at the age of 88, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Marceline and her husband Silvio Schembri, Tonio and his wife Marianne, Herman and his wife Stephanie, Miriam and her husband Alex Gauci, and Dennis and his wife Yvette, her grandsons and granddaughters Jonathan, Aaron, Ryan, Michelle, Christina, Daniel, Laura, Kain, Victoria and Erika, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Villa Messina, Rabat, today at 1.45pm for St Mary’s parish church, Birkirkara, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2.30pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. He leaves to mourn his loss his brother Victor,his sisters-in-law Kerstin Mitchell and Brigitta, his nephews and niece Christopher, Louise, Peter and Martin, step-nephews Kevin and Nicola, his neighbours Joe and Juanita, and numerous friends, and his fellow scouts from St Aloysius’ College Scout Group. MIZZI. Suddenly, on February 4, at home, MARCELL MIZZI, LP, former MP, of Victoria, Gozo, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss his loving wife Mary Anne, née Gatt, his children Josephine, Marlene, Mary Rose, Anton, Louise Anne and John, their spouses, his beloved grandchildren David, Robert, Claire, Lucienne, Marcelline, Neville, Caroline, Michelle, Carmelo, Simon, Mark, Kathryn and Maxim and his great-grandson Michael Marcell, other relatives and friends. Historical documents

Joan Abela will give a lecture on Silent Voices From The Archives dealing with the historical importance of the documents deposited at the Notarial Archives. The lecture, in English, will be held at Din l-Art Ħelwa, 133, Melita Street, Valletta, on February 14 at 6pm. Entrance is free but donations are welcome.
