BARTOLO. On January 30, at his residence, SPIRO of Mellieħa, aged 77, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his beloved wife Giorgina, née Cutajar, his children Mario, Victoria and Carmen and her husband Anton, his grandchildren Godwin and Annett and her husband Clive, his great-grandchildren Adriana and Caroline, his brothers and sisters, their families, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 1.15pm for St Anne Street from where the cortège will be accompanied by the La Vittoria Band to Maria Bambina parish church, Mellieħa, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 3pm, followed by interment at the Queen of Victories Cemetery, Mellieħa. Donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, would be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
MUSCAT. On January 30, at Mater Dei Hospital, GIOVANNA, passed away peacefully to eternal life. She leaves to mourn her great loss her husband John Mary, her children Carmen, Joseph and his wife Zahra, Jennifer and her fiancé Kevin, her brothers and sisters, her husband’s brothers and sisters, their families, relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow for St Joseph parish church, Manikata, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 3pm, followed by interment at Mellieħa cemetery. Donations to Hospice Malta, Balzan, will be greatly apprecated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.
REFALO. On January 30, CARMELO of Victoria, aged 83, passed away peacefully at Gozo General Hospital comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn him deeply his beloved wife Giorgia née Refalo, his only son Dr Anton Refalo LL.D and his wife Michelina, his two grandchildren Simona and André, his brothers and sisters Maria Rosa widow of Saverio Mifsud, Giuseppa wife of Carmelo Grech, Saverio, Maria wife of Salvu Formosa, Antonia wife of Anthony Sciberra, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Gozo General Hospital tomorrow at 3.15pm for Republic Street from where the cortege proceeds to St George’s parish Basilica for the celebration of Mass præsente cadavere at 4pm followed by interment at St Mary’s Cemetery, Xewkija. May he rest in the peace of the Risen Lord.

Abusive collections
The Ħamrun Little Sisters of the Poor issued a statement saying they never authorised anyone to collect money on their behalf. Any such collections are abusive and only the nuns of the Little Sisters of the Poor can collect funds. They can be contacted on 2123 7639 for more information.
