The marriage between CHARLES and LILIAN was celebrated on January 24, 1963, at St Aloysius College, Birkirkara. Their children Marisa and Giles, Renald and Sandra, Johan and Charmaine and grandchildren Nicholas, Angelica, Katrina, and Ryan.

BRIFFA. On January 23, at Karin Grech Rehabilitation Centre, MARTHA, née Pace, passed away peacefully, aged 93, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her sister Adelina, née Gatt and her husband Charles, her brothers Edward Pace and his wife Doris, Guido Pace and his wife Evelyn, her in-laws, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated today at 9am at St Mary’s parish church, Attard, followed by interment in the family grave at Attard cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

CILIA. On January 22, at Mater Dei Hospital, CRISTINA of Mellieħa, aged 82, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. Loved and remembered by her children Olivia and her husband Martin, Nicholas and his wife Susan and Josephine and her husband Jesmond, her grandchildren Nicole, Nigel, Sarah, Amber, Sephora, Hayley, Celine and Mira, her sisters Sr Victoria Vella of the Sisters of St Dorothy, and Agnes, her brothers Carmel and John, her brother-in-law George, their respective spouses and families, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 2.30pm for Our Lady of Victories parish church, Mellieħa, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 3.30pm followed by interment at Sultana tal-Vitorji Cemetery, Mellieħa. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

GRECH. On January 22, at Mater Dei Hospital, PAUL, aged 86, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his sad loss his wife Connie, née Caruana, his son Dr Peter Grech and his wife Mariella, his daughter Ann and her husband Dr Tonio Xuereb, his grandchildren Ylenia, Daniel, Matthew, Nadine, Damian and Timothy, his brothers, sisters and in-laws, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 2pm for St Helen’s Basilica, Birkirkara, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2.30pm, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. MAGRI FERRANTE. On January 22, at Mater Dei Hospital, CONNIE of Fleur-de-Lys, aged 70, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Joe, her brothers Fr Karm Ferrante, OC, and Robert Ferrante and his wife Marlene, her in-laws Carmen and her husband Frans Pullicino, Betty and her husband Charles Micallef, Leonard Magri, widower of Christine, residing in America, Polly and her husband George Micallef, Sino Magri and his wife Josianne and Edgar Magri and his wife Marica, nephews and nieces, their respective spouses and families, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 9am for Our Lady of Mount Carmel parish church, Fleur-de-Lys, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9.30am, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. MIFSUD. On January 21, at Mater Dei Hospital, ALFRED, aged 77, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. Mourning his loss are his wife Antoinette, son Christopher and his wife Ramona, daughter Sandra and her partner Douglas, sisters Mary, Jane and Lily, in-laws, other relatives and friends. To those who knew Freddie he was a warm, generous and spiritual man who touched many people throughout his life with his positivity and smile. Funeral service will take place today at 8.45am at St Gregory’s parish church, Sliema. No flowers by request but donations to the Ursuline Crèche, Salesians of Don Bosco or St Patrick’s church in Sliema would be appreciated.

PITRÈ. On January 23, at Loyola House, Naxxar, Fr ALFRED PITRÈ, SJ, aged 96, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his brethren in the Society of Jesus in Malta, his nephew Joe and his nieces Marjoe, Victoria, Margaret and Clara, their spouses, cousins, other relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated today at 3.30pm at Naxxar parish church followed by interment at the parish cemetery in Naxxar. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

VASSALLO. On January 22, at Karin Grech Rehabilitation Centre, CARMELA, née Borg, of Sliema, aged 86, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her dear sons Carmelo, John and Mark, their wives, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, her brothers and sister, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Karin Grech Rehabilitation Centre today at 1.30pm for St Gregory parish church, Sliema, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment in the family grave at the Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Caritas, Floriana, will be appreciated. The family would like to thank all doctors and staff at Mater Dei and Karin Grech hospitals. VELLA. On January 22, at Mater Dei Hospital, JOSEPH M. of Marsascala, aged 82, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Carmen, née Farrugia, his children Denis and Theresa Vella, Irene and Andrew Muscat, Eric and Katya Glanville Vella and their son Ethan, his nephews Chlothar Roth, Roland and Brigitte Roth and their daughters Leonie and Violetta, relatives, friends and neighbours. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 1.30pm for Marsascala parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2.15pm followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. On the second anniversary of the passing away of our beloved father GODWIN PACE, a Mass for the repose of his soul will be said tomorrow at 6.30pm at St Julians parish church. The attendance of relatives and friends is appreciated.
