BRINCAT. On September 29, at Boffa Hospital, ANTHONY of Qormi, residing at Żabbar, aged 51, passed on to eternal life, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss his beloved wife Juliet, his son Glen and his fiancée Audrienne, his mother Mary and his father Alfred, his sister Carmen and her husband Twanny, their son Steve and his wife Shirelle, his mother-in-law Ċettina and his father-in-law George, his aunties, uncles and cousins, among them aunt Rose and her husband Kekoo Modi, his cousins Shireen and Yasmin, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 1.30pm for St George’s parish church, Qormi, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm, followed by interment at St George’s Cemetery, Qormi. No flowers by request but donations to Hospice Malta, Balzan, will be greatly appreciated. The family would like to thank the staff of Neuro Medical Ward at Mater Dei Hospital, the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at Boffa Hospital, Hospice Malta, Balzan, and the Malta Community Chest Fund for their care, support and dedication. COCKBURN. On August 14, PATRICIA, at home with loving family, passed onto glory with God fortified by the rites of Holy Church. Married in the private chapel at Villa Portelli, Sliema, 1954, the start of a happy family life and long love-affair with Malta and its people. Cherished wife of William (Bill), treasured mother of Mary-Ann, Barbara and Frances, loving twin of the late Michael K. McGrane. She was forthright, warm, fiercely loyal and generous. “Hold her close to your Sacred Heart, close as locket or bracelet fits, not Death itself is so strong as Love”.

FILLETTI. On October 2, at Sir Paul Boffa Hospital, SUNNY of Msida, residing at Iklin, aged 78, went to meet the Risen Lord, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Ċensina, his children Raymond and his wife Marthese, Joe and his wife Mariella, and Marthese and her husband Vincent Micallef, his grandchildren, Beppe, Martina, Justine and Mireille, sister and brothers Carmeline, Joe, Louis and his wife Agnes, his in-laws, Rose, John and his wife Helen, Marlene and her husband John, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 2pm for St Joseph parish church, Msida, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2.30pm, followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at Sir Paul Boffa Hospital and family friend Dr Antoine Vella, for their support and dedication. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

MICALLEF. On September 30, Dr FRANCIS XAVIER, aged 87, passed away peacefully,comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss his beloved wife Nanette, née Schembri, his children Joseph, Mariella, John, Anton, and their spouses, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his sister Miriam, her husband Don and their children, other relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be said today at 3.30pm at the Mosta Rotunda church, followed by interment at Mosta cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to local charities will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal peace.

MUSCAT. On September 30, at Mater Dei Hospital, DOLORES of St Paul’s Bay, residing in Qormi, aged 78, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. Loved and remembered by Charles, her children Pauline, widow of Anthony Borda, Victoria and her husband Joe Ciantar, John and his wife Natalie of Canada and Mario and his wife Pamela of Canada, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters, in-laws, nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 7.30am for St Paul’s Bay parish church where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 8am, followed by interment at Burmarrad cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

Cultural calendar

The Malta Council for Culture and the Arts is collecting infor-mation on cultural events scheduled for January, February and March 2013.

Cultural and artistic event organisers are being asked to send a three-line description of each event, preferably in English. They should include the date, time and venue of the event. Where possible, photos and visual material in Jpeg or Tiff format at 300dpi should alsobe attached.
