MIFSUD BONNICI. On September 2, ANTOINETTE (Antie) née Ellul Castaldi, widow of Pio, at Casa Antonia Residence, aged 91, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her great loss her children Jeanne Antide and her husband Saviour Seisun, Salvino and his partner Elaine, Marion and her husband Charles Attard Bezzina, Isabel and her husband Ben Muscat and Christopher, her treasured grandchildren and great-grandchildren, her dear brother Josie, her sister-in-law Inez, cousins, nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Casa Antonia Residence today at 1.30 p.m. for Maria Annunzjata parish church, Balzan, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 2pm followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Her family heartily thank the staff at Casa Antonia for the love and attention given to her especially during her last days. No flowers by request but donations to Hospice Malta, Balzan, will be greatly appreciated. May the Good Lord grant her eternal rest.
SANDSTROM. On August 27, at St James Hospital, Sliema, TORSTEN, of Balzan, aged 91, passed away peacefully. He leaves to mourn his loss his daughter Vibeke, his son Christopher and his wife Cecilia, his grandchildren Pablo and Natalia Benevides, Matilda and Isabelle Sandstrom. Funeral service will be held at the Church of the Holy Trinity, Rudolph Street, Sliema, on Friday at 10.30am. No flowers by request but donations to The Malta Memorial District Nursing Association, Kappara, will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest
TALIANA. On September 1, SALVU, at Mater Dei Hospital, aged 75, formerly of Lija, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his children Miriam and her husband Robert Micallef, Tony and his wife Simone Taliana, Johnny and his wife Sandra Taliana, Josette and her husband Cedric Mizzi, Carmen and her husband John Cuschieri, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, in-laws, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 3.30pm for Lija parish church, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 3.45pm followed by interment at Lija cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

Gala barbecue
The date of the gala BBQ organised by Flimkien Għall-Ambjent Aħjar has been postponed to September 21 from 20 because the Independence Day mass meeting in Floriana will be held on the eve of the public holiday.
