CORTIS. On August 10, in Arequipa, Peru, while playing with the children of Aldea Sagrada Familia, Fr FRANK, aged 68, passed away in peace. He leaves to mourn his loss the members of the Missionary Society of St Paul, his sister Sr Tarcisia, his brothers Salvu and his wife Catherine, Constantino and his wife Doris, Charlie and his wife Josephine, Marie and her husband Raymond, Marioucca, wife of his late brother Joseph, nephews Tonio, Natasha, Franklin, Donatello, Francesca, Abigail, Ryan, Analine, Mark and their children. Mass praesente cadavere was held at the cathedral of Arequipa Peru. Solemn Mass for the repose of his soul will be held today at St Joseph’s Home, Santa Venera, at 7.30 p.m.

On August 11, at Sir Paul Boffa Hospital, LILY née Caruana, of Ħamrun, aged 91, widow of Turu, after a short illness borne with Christian fortitude and comforted by the rights of the Holy Sacraments, went to meet the Risen Lord in eternal life where she will be met by her husband Turu, her daughter Carmen and her son-in-law Steve. She leaves to mourn her loss her children, Agnes, widow of Steve Deraffaele, Joyce and her husband Tony Preca, Vincent and his wife Marlene, Victor and his wife Vivienne, Arthur and his wife Doris, Herman and Edwin Cutajar, husband of her late daughter Carmen, her grandchildren Alex and Josianne, Annabel and Gordon, Jacqueline and Michael, Elaine, Kevin and Joanna, Nadya and Jonathan, Roberta and Ric, Chantel, Johann and Rebecca, Lizeanne and Evan, Claire and Adrienne, her great- grandchildren, Krista, Yasmine, Kyle, Matthias, Maraya, Kristy, Emma and Megan, her sisters Sr Gaetana of the Dominican Order and Theresa and her husband Manuel Pisani, her nephews, nieces, other relatives, neighbours and friends. The funeral cortege will leave Mater Dei Hospital today at 2 p.m. for the Immaculate Conception parish church in Ħamrun where Mass praesente cadavere will be said at 2.30 p.m. followed by internment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord grant her eternal rest.
SCHEMBRI. On August 12, in Sydney, Australia, GEORGE, aged 80, widower of Martha, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his children Maria, wife of Joe Camilleri, Joe and his wife Carmen, Michael and his wife Helen, Raymond and his wife Mary, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, siblings Frank and Peter Paul, who both live in Australia, Frances, Fr Anthony, Fr Adeodato OSA, John, Lina, Mary Anne and Maria, widow of his brother Ġużeppi, their families, other relatives and friends. The funeral will take place in Sydney on Saturday. Mass for the repose of his soul will be held at St Augustine’s church, Victoria, today at 7 p.m. The presence of relatives and friends will be appreciated. Lord, grant him eternal rest.
VELLA. On August 11, at Sir Paul Boffa Hospital, PAUL, aged 66, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Carmen, children Ritienne and her partner Sigmund Fagerbakke, Karen and her husband Massimo Camilleri, Charlene and her husband John Paul Bugeja, his brothers and sisters and their spouses, his mother-in-law Kristina and his wife’s relatives, grandchildren, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 3.30 p.m. for St Paul’s parish church in Rabat where Mass will be held at 4 p.m. followed by interment at St Margaret’s cemetery in Rabat. The family would like to thank Urology 1 and Urology 2 wards at Mater Dei Hospital and the staff of Sir Paul Boffa Hospital. Lord grant him eternal rest.
