DONALD. On January 14, in Broadstairs, Kent, KAY, née Harding, passed away peacefully after a short illness bravely borne. Widow of Col. Archie Donald, DSO, beloved mother of Priscilla and her husband Michael Foot, Tony Reeves, widower of her daughter Pippa, Melissa and her husband Hubert Pace, devoted grandmother of James, Diana, William and Jonathan, Hannah, Catherine and Philippa, Tessa, Emily, Becky and Oliver, and proud great-grandmother of Benjamin and Arabella.

MICALLEF EYNAUD. On January 14, at Mater Dei Hospital, VERONICA, née Mattei, widow of Edward, aged 87, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Cecily, Greta and Tony, Philip and Fiona, her grandchildren Chantal, Christian and Sylvia, Patrick and Mandy, Nicola, Amanda, JeanPaul, Simon, Elisa and Alistair and Stephanie, her five great-grandchildren, her sister-in-law Lydia Mattei, nephews, nieces and other relatives. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on January 20 at 8.30 a.m. for Stella Maris parish church, Sliema, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9.30 a.m., followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

PORTELLI – On January 15, at Mater Dei Hospital, LUCIA, née Demajo, widow of Joseph, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Mother Church after a debilitating illness bravely borne with great determination and resilience of spirit. She leaves to mourn her great loss her dear son Dr Joe Portelli Demajo and his wife Jo Anna, her beloved daughters Josette and her husband Georges Magri and Rosalie and her husband Dr Stefan Frendo, her loving grandchildren Max and his wife Ilona, Suzanne, Julienne, Chiara, Francesco and Charmaine and Ryan, her very dear carer Analiz, her brother Thomas and his wife Tessie, nephews and nieces, her dear cousin Antoinette Mifsud Bonnici, numerous relatives, friends and neighbours. The funeral Mass præsente cadavere will be held at St Gregory’s parish church, Sliema, today at 9 a.m., followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. “In the end is my beginning”. May she rest in the arms of the Lord. The family would like to thank all the doctors and nursing staff at Mater Dei for their dedication and professionalism as well as Analiz Tubojan who nursed her so lovingly during these last three years. Donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi and the Salesian Mission Fund, Sliema, will be greatly appreciated.

Requiem Masses

A Mass for the repose of the soul of LAWRENCE (Lorry) BORG will be said today at 6.45 p.m. at St Joseph’s Oratory, Ta’ Ġieżu church, Rabat. His close friends and members of the Arsenal Supporters Club Malta invite everyone to attend.

Tomorrow being the trigesima die of the demise of MALOU TOLEDO, a Mass for the repose of her soul will be said tomorrow at 7 p.m. at St Patrick’s church, Sliema. The attendance of relatives and friends will be greatly appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.
