ATTARD. On December 14, TESSIE, aged 59, passed away at Mater Dei Hospital, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband Albert and her daughter Lorna, her brother John Gatt, her sisters, Eva, wife of Edwin Psaila, Mary Grace, wife of Joe Vella, Marlene, wife of Joe Scicluna, Monica Gatt and Victor Bonnici, Ruth, wife of Hans Klotzek, Maria, widow of her brother Salvu Gatt, Audrey and Anthony, children of her late sister Mary Anne Pulis, other relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be said today at 2.30 p.m. at the Holy Family parish church, Iklin, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery.

BUGEJA. On December 14, at his residence, ANTHONY, aged 79, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife Ginny, his daughter Patricia and her husband Lawrence, his son Joseph and his wife Susan, his daughter Marina and her husband Mario, his daughter Joanna and her fiancé Christopher, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. The funeral cortège leaves Mater Dei Hospital today at 2 p.m. for St Cajetan parish church, Ħamrun, where Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated at 2.30 p.m., followed by interment in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. The family regret they are unable to receive visitors.

DAMATO. MARCELLE, aged 85, widow of Dr Francis Damato, died on Sunday, December 4, 2011, in Stockton on Tees, UK. She is mourned by her daughters Isabelle and Josette, their husbands, Mark and Tony, and grandchildren Emily, Nicky, Christine and Tamara. She will be sadly missed. A funeral Mass will be held tomorrow at 9 a.m. at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery chapel, followed by burial. Donations to St Vincent de Paul, a charity beloved by Marcelle.

MUSCAT. On December 14, at St James Capua Hospital, Sliema, ALFRED, widower of Marcelline, ex-customs and ex-Public Lot-to/Maltco official, aged 71, passed away peacefully. He leaves to mourn his loss his daughters Marisa, Charmaine and her husband Etienne, and Clare and her partner Dr Chris Cilia, his grandchildren Miguel, Andrea and Beppe, his brother Joe and his wife Josette, his helper Michelle, in-laws, nephews, nieces and his many friends. The funeral service will be held tomorrow at 9 a.m. at St Publius parish church, Floriana, followed by burial in the family grave at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

WALLBANK. On December 5, BRIAN, aged 57, passed away peacefully in India comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss his beloved wife Nadia, née Zammit, his daughter Stephanie and her husband Kasi, and his son Malcolm, his mother Carmelina, his brothers David and Charles and his sister Marion and their spouses, his mother-in-law Mabel, his brothers-in-law Trevor and Clive and their spouses, his nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital on Saturday, December 17 at 8.45 a.m. for St Julians parish church, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 9.15 a.m. followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Puttinu Cares will be appreciated. The family would like to thank the entire Allampalli family of Kakinada, India for all their help and support throughout these difficult circumstances. Lord, grant him eternal rest.

Requiem Mass

A Mass for the repose of the soul of WALTER DeBONO is being celebrated by Fr Mahoney at St Gregory’s parish church, Sliema, tomorrow at 6.30 p.m. Relatives, Legion of Mary members and friends are invited to attend. May he rest in peace.

Extended hours for postal service

MaltaPost has extended its local delivery service and the opening hours of some of its post offices, including the parcel office in Marsa, until December 23.

Postal services at head office will be available on weekdays and Saturdays between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m., while the parcel office (for the collection of notified non-dutiable parcels, bulky packets and EMS items) is open between Monday and Saturday from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m.

Customs clearance service at the head office is available weekdays from 8 a.m. till 12.45 p.m. and from 1.45 until 7 p.m., while on Saturdays it will be open between 8 a.m. and 12.45 p.m.

MaltaPost may also clear items from Customs on the customer’s behalf at a nominal fee upon receiving authorisation from clients. Post offices in Mosta, Rabat, Birkirkara, Paola and Sliema are open on weekdays from 7.30 a.m. until 12.45 p.m., and from 4 until 7.30 p.m. and on Saturdays between 7.30 a.m. and 12.45 p.m.

MaltaPost’s nationwide delivery service is being extended until9 p.m. seven days a week, until December 23.

A Santa Claus post office has also been set up opposite the Law Courts in Republic Street, Valletta, offering postal services and personalised stamps with Santa Claus between tomorrow and Friday and on December 19 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. and 4 until 7 p.m.; on December 17, 18, 20, 21, 22 and 23 from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. and between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on December 24.

A letter box was also installed next to Santa’s Post office for the Christmas period.
