BORG. On October 25, RITA, aged 96, has now joined her husband Saviour and her daughter Mary. She will be much missed by her children Charles, Josephine, widow of Patrick, Alfred and his wife Josephine, Anthony, ex-Director, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Evelyn and her husband Helmut, and Esther and her husband John, and her many beloved grand and great-grandchildren. Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated today at 2.30 p.m. at Msida parish church, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

Home fair

The Home Exhibition will be held between today and Sunday at the Malta Fairs and Conventions Centre, Ta’ Qali.

Over 80 exhibitors will be displaying various home items including furniture, garage doors, solar and gas water heaters, stonework, light fittings and security systems. The exhibition will also be featuring a do-it-yourself section and a lavish apartment decorated and furnished with novel items supplied by the exhibitors.

St Nicholas of Tolentino Award

The presentation of St Nicholas of Tolentino Award, organised annually by the Augustinian Friars of Tarxien, will be held on November 19 at 7.30 p.m. at St Nicholas Hall, Lampuka Street, Tarxien.

The award is intended to promote people who give their time and service on a voluntary basis to the community, to an organisation or to a philanthropic cause. The evening will also include the production of a play on the life of St Nicholas.

Proceeds on the night will be in aid of St Jeanne Foundation.

Band Clubs Association activities

The Malta Band Clubs Association will be celebrating the feast of St Cecilia, patron saint of musicians, in Kerċem on November 6. Gozo Bishop Mario Grech will celebrate Mass at St Gregory’s parish church at 6 p.m.

In Malta, the annual Manoel Theatre concert will be held on November 13 at 7 p.m. and will feature the L’Isle Adam Band of Rabat.

The association, in collaboration with the Pyrotechnic and Street Decorations Association, will be holding three days of activities at the Montekristo Grounds in Ħal Farruġ, between November 25 and 27.

Chocolate festival

The Ħamrun local council will be holding the third edition of the chocolate festival on Saturday, from 6 p.m., in the Old Railway Avenue area (near the Ħamrun Scouts quarters). The attractions will include a 1931 Ford Model A replica made entirely of chocolate, chocolate bust carving of St Ġorġ Preca and a mannequin being dressed live in chocolate clothes and items.
