AQUILINA. On June 13, at Mater Dei Hospital, DORIS, aged 80, from Valletta, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her son Noel and his wife Lorraine and their children Iżakk, David, Ġożwè, Mattija, Daniel and Maria Krista; her daughter Patricia and her husband Anton Micallef and their children Mark and Kurt, her sister Ċensa widow of George Zammit and Pawla and her husband Frans Mamo, other relatives and friends. The funeral leaves Mater Dei Hospital tomorrow at 9.30 a.m. for Our Lady of Mount Carmel church, Valletta, where Mass præsente cadavere will be said at 10 a.m. followed by interment in the grave of the Solidalitá tal-Agunija ta’ San Pawl Nawfraġju of Valletta, at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. No flowers by request but donations to Id-Dar tal-Providenza, Siġġiewi, will be appreciated. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

Centenary concert
The Sliema Philharmonic Society and the organising committee of the Centenary Celebrations will hold a musical and vocal concert at the parish church of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Sliema on June 26 at 7.30 p.m. It marks 100 years since the titular statue was carried out in a procession.
Mellieħa clean-up

Dinner for diabetes
The Maltese Diabetes Association will be laying on a buffet dinner, including wine, on July 2 at the Grand Hotel Excelsior in Floriana. The all inclusive price is €30 per person in aid of the association’s education and awareness campaign on diabetes which affects 40,000 people in Malta. Mass for Opus Dei Founder
The Apostolic Nuncio to Malta, Archbishop Tommaso Caputo, will celebrate Mass in honour of St Josemaría Escrivá, Founder of Opus Dei, on Friday at 7.30 p.m. at Our Saviour parish church, Transfiguration Avenue, Lija. Everyone is invited to attend. Priests will be available for confession from 7 p.m. onwards.
Traffic diversion
Dawret il-Qalb Imqaddsa, Birżebuġġa, will be closed to traffic today and on Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. due to resurfacing works. Traffic headed towards Birżebbuġa will be diverted to Żarenu Dalli Street when reaches St George roundabout.
