CAMILLERI KAMSKY. On May 17, at home, JOHN, aged 88, passed away peacefully, comforted by the rites of Holy Church. He leaves to mourn his great loss his beloved children Michael and his wife Greta and Marisa and her husband Steve Conti, his adored grandchildren Simon, Francesca, Michael, Rebekah, Nicola, Andrew and Martine, their respective spouses, and his precious great-grandchildren Matthew and David, together with other relatives and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated today at 9.30 a.m. at San Ġwann parish church, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery. Donations to St Claire’s Monastery, St Julians. GLASS. On May 17, at Mater Dei Hospital, EDITH, née Bates, widow of Thomas, aged 90, passed away peacefully comforted by the rites of Holy Church. She leaves to mourn her loss her children Thomas, Pamela and her husband Peter, Jeremy and Shirley, her grandchildren Patrick and his wife Alison, Claire and her husband Michael, Simon and his wife Rachael, Sarah and her husband Jonathan, Laura and Luke, Elaine and Vince, Christian and Diane, AnneMarie and Alain, Rosie, Daniel and his wife Karen and Emily, her great-grandchildren, neighbours and friends. Mass præsente cadavere will be celebrated tomorrow at 2 p.m. at St Julians parish church, followed by interment at Santa Maria Addolorata Cemetery (back gate). The family thank the staff at Mater Dei Hospital for their dedication and care. Lord, grant her eternal rest.

Wind ensemble concert

The Cosmos Wind Ensemble will perform at the first of Din l-Art Ħelwa’s fund raising Bir Miftuħ concerts on Saturday. The group is made up of Rebecca Hall (Canada) on the flute, John McDonough (UK) on the oboe, Godfrey Mifsud (Malta) on the clarinet and Ulrike Buhlmann (Germany) on the bassoon. The programme includes works by Rossini, Albert Garzia, J. Françaix, Mozart and Mike Curtis. The event is supported by the German Embassy. Booking is through the offices of Din l-Art Ħelwa at 133, Melita Street, Valletta. Tickets are also available at the door on the night of the performance. Chasing Pandora in Għaxaq concert

Chasing Pandora have been invited as Winter Moods’ special guests to perform live at the Għaxaq football ground on May 27 at 8 p.m. in aid of the Puttinu Cares For Children Fund.

Entrance is free, however donations will be collected at the venue and can also be made by SMS on 5061 7380 for a €2.33 donation, on 5061 8939 for a €6.99 donation and 5061 9225 for a €11.65 donation.

KSU setting up alumni society

The University Students’ Council (KSU) will be celebrating its 110th anniversary this year by setting up an alumni society. The annual general meeting will be held on Saturday at the University common room at 4 p.m. All alumni are welcome to attend and can contact Justin Fenech on info@justinfenech.com.

ID offices to close for referendum

The identity card offices in Valletta and Victoria will be closed between May 23 and 28. The offices will open again on May 30. The Electoral Commission said the offices will be closed because of work connected to the national referendum. People who have lost their ID cards will still be served between May 23 and 26.
