I write to voice my concern about the increasing lack of discipline by many motorists on our roads. It has regrettably become an everyday experience to see someone drive the wrong way in order to take a short cut or use their mobile phones while driving, ignoring the dire consequences of such behaviour.

It is now the rule rather than the exception to see people drive, speak on their mobile phone and perhaps even smoke or eat, all at the same time. Road courtesy seems to be a thing of the past.

Something has to be done to curb this lack of discipline on our roads. It is perhaps only thanks to the Almighty that serious traffic accidents are not that many. I strongly urge the competent authorities to undertake the necessary measures to ensure discipline before we reach a point of no return with rampant anarchy on our roads.
