I would like to express my utter disdain at an insolent, anti-Marian display going on near the cinema theatre of St James Cavalier. This insensitive, sacriligious display has been brought to our shores by a Hungarian-born British woman. It denies and casts doubts on a major belief of Roman Catholics, namely the virginity of the Blessed Virgin Mary and her being Mother of God.

It is a very bad and insensitive decision by the administrators of St James Cavalier to give permission for this display. What would have happened if it insulted other religions?

We spent millions of euros in taxpayers’ money on this building in order that we adults, our youths and our children may have opportunities to enjoy noble art and music there. What values do the administrators think such a display will pass on to the Maltese public and to our youths in particular?

Shame, shame on St James’s administration.
