“A Prime Minister should have no problem giving orders to Cabinet members, parliamentary secretaries, his own secretariat and even to the chiefs of government entities”. This is how the editorial ‘Yes of course, Prime Minister’ (November 30) started. Nobody ever doubted that, however, in Malta’s case, after the names of Tourism Minister Konrad Mizzi and the Prime Minister’s chief of staff, Keith Schembri, appeared in the Panama Papers, one could only wonder why the Prime Minister has – so far – failed to take any action. People are asking why the Prime Minister appears to have his hands tied in respect of those who broke the law.

Such behaviour lessens credibility and raises eyebrows.
