As a former English lecturer at a Paris University, I had decided to apply for enrolment here, at the University of Malta. The University at that time insisted I sat for the TOEFL exam to check if I could understand English well enough to be able to follow their courses.

Now, a few years later, I want to enrol for a BA in Chinese and asked for my PhD credits to be taken into account. They refuse without giving me any explanations. If this is not stupidity, I do not know what to call it. Never have I seen such an idiotic decision. So with my PhD, I will have to take the English exams for a BA!

Who do those people think they are? So much for applying the principle of recognising the credits from foreign universities. And they claim they are European. There is indeed a very long way to go for them to understand what reciprocity means.

I must say that there stuck-up attitude is intolerable. As if only Malta can deliver valuable degrees and diplomas.

This is unbelievable.
