The Society of St Vincent de Paul is appealing to the generosity of readers of The Times because it has promised to provide a laptop to an inmate at the Corradino Correctional Facility after obtaining the approval of the CCF director.

The person for whom the laptop is intended cannot thank the provider at the moment but I am certain that in a few years’ time she would do so personally. Her birthday was on Christmas Day, so let’s make her days and life happier while in Malta. If more than one laptop is offered, the others would be donated to other institutions in need of them.

Any readers who would like to help the society fulfil its promise can contact the undersigned on 7941 0914 or the secretary, George Spiteri, on 7930 2311.

(The Society of St Vincent de Paul was founded in Valletta in 1850 by Rev. Dr Paolo Pullicino, following the founding of the lay organisation in Paris by Blessed Frederic Ozanam and friends in 1833).
