Let me remind those who intend to vote for the Nationalist Party at the forthcoming election of the record of this party when in government.

The Nationalist government sold Mid-Med Bank for a song. Remembering the buildings the bank owned makes my blood boil – Lohombus Corp building in Marsa, the ex-head office in Republic Street, Valletta, opposite the Chamber of Commerce, the magnificent branch in Merchants Street, Valletta, plus over 20 buildings spread around Malta. I am sure I missed mentioning many other assets.

The PN will also be remembered for the disaster they caused at the Dockyard culminating in the loss of Lm70 million on the Fairmount contract. With the closure of the Dockyard we lost the cradle of engineering and many other trades that had been nurtured over 150 years.

The PN sold the Public Lotto Department to a Greek company thereby forfeiting a handsome income every year. It will not be possible to replace such a beneficial income for Malta’s coffers.

The PN ‘gave away’ Sea Malta to the Italians. Why? Did the Grimaldi company keep their promises? I very much doubt it.

MIA, the airport Malta was very proud of, now belongs to Vienna airport. Why did we have no one to run it successfully?

The Minister of Finance has many times repeated that he had no faith in the Maltese.

The Malta Freeport too was struck by the sword of Damocles. Was Marin Hili not responsible for its development and successes before we handed the port to foreigners? Mr Hili is Maltese, is he not?

This is some of the long litany of disasters perpetrated by the PN in 25 years.

Let us remember that the accumulated national debt of €5 billion will have to be repaid one day or another.
